Villa Tugendhat is unlike the traditional villas on this list.

Designed by famous architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the modernist villa was completed around 1930. Its open spaces, large windows, simple design, and connection to the garden were revolutionary. The villa is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
