Aeroflot is one of the oldest airlines in the world. It was once the official airline of the Soviet Union. However, during the Soviet era, it had a terrible safety record.

Aeroflot has been involved in over 200 fatal crashes, mainly between the 1960s and 1990s. Many of these accidents were due to poor aircraft maintenance and pilot errors. Today, the airline has improved its safety standards, but its past makes it one of the worst in aviation history.
