Achilleion Palace — Greece

On the Greek island of Corfu stands a palace inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Empress Elisabeth of Austria, better known as Sisi, commissioned the Achilleion.

She was fascinated by Greek culture, especially the legendary hero Achilles. Classical statues, grand staircases, beautiful gardens, and views toward the Ionian Sea make the Achilleion one of Greece’s most remarkable estates.
