Man Dies after being attacked by Tiger in Wildlife Park

A MAN has died after being mauled by a tiger when he reportedly jumped into an enclosure in front of crowds at a wildlife park.

Witnesses watched on in horror after the visitor leaped into the Land of the Tigers area at around 1.30 pm at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Emergency crews arrived on scene as the park evacuated this afternoon, with shocked visitors told to leave immediately.

The man was pounced on by at least one big cat, with the tiger involved believed to be called Altai. He has now died after the “serious incident”, as confirmed by South Yorkshire Police. It is still unclear why or how the man, who has not been identified, got into the enclosure.
